Inspiration
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions,
perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
however measured or far away."

Tasting Notes
A first for Copia, we welcome a 100% Petit Verdot to our rare Pursuit Series. Featuring fruit from the Copia Willow Creek Estate, 2022 The Pursuit, Petit Verdot, makes a full-bodied, truly singular wine. As a grape that is typically relegated to 10% or less in a finished blend, this wine gives PV its own platform to perform. It’s confoundingly many layered things all in one: black-and-blue, notes of cocoa and a refined note of lilac and violets. Extended barrel aging gives this wine a richness and allows for subtle notes of spice and vanilla. It’s the vineyard’s pride and the winemaker’s treat to share this wine with you.
Winemaking
Grapes were carefully berry and cluster sorted, 100% destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. After a cold maceration of 5 days, daily punch-downs, pump-overs and pneumotage were conducted.
Élevage
The wine rested for 22 months in 67% new French oak.
Ratings

91-93 pts – Jeb Dunnuck | … unique, with a dense purple hue as well as gamey blue and black fruits, pot roast, chocolate, leafy herbs, and meaty nuances. Structured, tannic, and full-bodied … a singular, interesting wine.
